It should work on Windows 7 bit. The box accepts all Firewire commands, but does nothing direwire most of them, so you need an IR blaster for power and channel changing. Channel change with "mythchanger -f 7 -c" MythTV internal changer did not work. Nothing seems to happen at first glance. Sometimes it take a couple of tries and only one firewire port on my STB works.

You'd need to really be on top of off-loading it via FireWire in order to not run out of space. But I would imagine that if I installed a video capture card that the card would then ask me to select an input and then I could select the Motorola?

If you pick Scientific Atlanta then it dose not seem to work for changing Channels. The status query works, so at least you can check to see if it needs a power command.
After that point, all analog channels could only be accessed if I first changed the channels with a remote.

Strangely, this appears to be mostly SD channels and possibly east coast originating channels speculation. I'm just not sure exactly what kind of firewire cable I need, though.
What should I do in this situation? This does not apply to Canada where CableCard units are not required to be supported by cable companies. I get none of that. Even though I have 5 months to prepare, it's firewore that I will have to record the primetime coverage on my DVR, and then, immediately afterward, transfer it to my hard drive for recording, then erase it and do the next night, and so on.

Using P2P at Mbps, it provides a solid firewore on broadcast channels, but does not include basic cable channels though they are picked up with a cable card tuner.
The sites where I found the drivers do not mention anything about Windows 7 or Vista and the drivers are relatively old.
