Please try again now or at a later time. I dont think that the mobo is broken as the windows installer manages to detect the drive and copy the neccesary files ready for install, but then it refuses to boot from the SATA drive to continue the OS install.

No message to put a floppy or CD in no matter what my boot sequence is. I've mixed any level with any level drive and controller.

The strange thing is I have not touched it since I started this thread. One other thing, when loading the drivers during XP w7n8x at F6 prompt, XP suggested it had a better driver.

You always have the option of putting another chip in if it's socketed. I then plugged the drive into a friends computer and backed-up my data. Several functions may not work. I loaded windows on a 32G flash drive not the one used now 2 z7n8x ago with no issue other than blue screen of death after XP rebooted PC to install windows. You may need to fit a Floppy drive temporally or maybe even you may need to create a Boot CD to do this but you have to test the Drive first. I tried both headers with just the gb and then both SATA drives.
